Gravity Falls: Set and Prop Making

As I was lead Set Designer and Prop Maker, I was focused on the worldbuilding aspect to sell the horror atmosphere we were aiming for. Therefore, I took into account lots of inspirations mainly focusing on: Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Ed and Lorraine Warren Museum, as well as DeBarras Folk Club a place I visited as a child on a trip to Ireland.

I really enjoy set designing and prop making and find focusing on the finer details very rewarding. The props are made out of a variety of materials: mainly felt, milliput, or polymer clay which was later painted onto.

To age the set, I used baby powder and Halloween cobweb decorations creating a final haunting image.

Here is a Making of Reel: summarising the process I went through during this project.
